Please NOTE:

The Standard Hi-Q -4 series antennas are REPLACED with the NEW Hi-Q-4/80 RT MC-1 series of HF Mobile, TAD and NVIS antennas..
ALL physical parameters have remained the same, the Electrical parameters have substantionally improved as all internal components are SILVER PLATED!

The Hi-Q-4/80 RT

Remotely Tunable (Motorized) - 6 thru 80 meters

The Hi-Q-4/80 RT is a motorized, Remotely Tunable HF Mobile antenna. This is the MOST efficient motorized tunable HF Mobile antenna built today. The coil diameter is perfectly chosen and optimized at the 40M band with only small performance change on 80 and the higher bands.

Dimensions:

Antenna height: 3 feet
Recommended whip length: 7 feet 6 inches
Loading coil diameter: 4 inches
Loading coil length: 9 inches
Mast diameter: 1.3 inches with 2 inch motor housing
Weight: 7.0 lb.
Base impedance: 18 Ohms @ 3.8 MHz
Matching may be needed for 40 & 80 meters, using either a shunt coil or other matching device. The loading coil is a sealed unit, no maintenance is required.

Method of tuning:
  • Hi-Q DC Controller or similar controller. ALL Hi-Q-Antennas now have a magnet to count rotations of the motor-output shaft. So, by adding an optional reed switch externally, you get a "pulse per revolution" for the Hi-Q DC Controller or similar controller.
  • You may also use a simple DPDT switch to tune the antenna.
Power input to motor: 12/24 VDC
Mounting: 3/8-24 bolt, two insulating wafers, supplied.

Electrical parameters (Measured @ 3.8 MHz)

Note: Picture is shown with optional caphat
Frequency coverage: 6 meters through 80 meters (for 6m & 10m use a short whip)
Overall height: 13'6" mounted on a Std. Vehicle
Overall antenna "Q": 93
Radiation Efficiency: 7.2%
Relative radiated power: -11.4 dB
Power handling: SSB legal limit

Choose from these Plug-n-Play Packages:

Package A
Package B Supply your own coax, two or four conductor cable and connector (power / turn-counting), ~4ft whip, controller or DPDT switch and antenna mount, and you are on the air!
